What sets SportsZenergy apart from others is my journey—because it helps me to understand yours.
In 2014 I was part of a corporate layoff. It was one of the best things that ever happened to me professionally. It gave me an opportunity to a re-evaluate my career goals. I decided to venture onto a different path and pursue my passion for sports and wellness.
First a little about me. I have been racing as an endurance triathlete since 2009 with the Webster Triathlon as my first race. It wasn’t pretty, but I was hooked. Since that first race I have competed in several triathlons of all distances including two Ironmans; IMLP in 2014 and IMMT in 2016. I have also run in road races of all distances including my favorite, the Newport Marathon in 2013. Other races were the muddy Warrior Dash and I have competed in the Greenway Challenge for over 10 years. This year includes the transformation into a Bikini Competitor, a body building challenge at the INBF Monster Mash .
During my adventures, I have also encountered injuries as many athletes do. I have trained with an injury, raced with an injury, and have had to miss getting to the starting line because of an injury.
During some seasons I found myself injured and unable to race or had to adjust my training or goals. I found it discouraging when I could not get to the starting line because of an injury. I have had hamstring pulls, piriformis syndrome, hip and knee issues, and one diagnosis was arthritis in my foot.
I wanted to seek out answers to so many questions that I had. I wanted to understand the body. I wanted to learn about the anatomy and physiology of the body. I wanted to know why or what was going on when I encountered these injuries and how to avoid them. That was when I decided to enroll in Bancroft School of Massage Therapy.
Till this day, I know I am not invincible an am not always pain free, but I always turn to massage therapy first when the need arises.
My goal is to understand what it is that brought you to massage therapy. We’ll work together to restore your strength and mobility, reduce or eliminate your symptoms, and invigorate your sense of self.
