My mother always told me, everything happens for a reason.
One of the best things that ever happened to me professionally, though, was a corporate layoff: it led me to a career rooted in my passion for sports and wellness.
As a triathlete for more than 8 years, I also have participated in many running races, including the Newport Marathon in 2012, and several adventurous muddy races. In 2014, I completed my first Ironman distance event, Ironman Lake Placid.
Continuing to following my passion for sports and wellness, I became a certified Personal Trainer, a USAT Level I triathlon coach, a swim coach and a Youth Tri Team coach at the YMCA. As a USAT Coach, I work with clients who share my passion, ranging from first-time sprint to long course triathletes in training.
What sets SportsZenergy apart is my journey—because it helps me understand yours.
As an endurance athlete, I test the limits of my body. Usually it’s exhilarating. Sometimes, unfortunately, it results in injury. My own experience was discouraging because I found myself suffering from the same symptoms over and over again, despite numerous visits to doctors and physical therapists. In 2014, I decided to take matters into my own hands (literally!) and explore the world of massage therapy at Bancroft School of Massage to better understand what was going on within my body.
What I learned went far beyond the physical techniques of various modalities. I gained compassion and a deeper understanding of who I am and what I am capable of, as well as a sense of pride. I learned how I can help someone who is in pain, to help them heal, to provide comfort and relief, and most importantly to get them back to doing what they love!
At SportsZenergy I specialize in Sports Massage. I have seen the benefit of massage therapy; it has kept me healthy as well as helped me to recover from injuries such as hamstring pulls, issues with my foot, hip, and glutes.
My goal is to understand what it is that brought you to massage therapy. We’ll work together to restore your strength and mobility, reduce or eliminate your symptoms, and invigorate your sense of self.
